What We Do
In 1956, Alpha Phi became one of the first women’s fraternities to establish a Foundation. It was created as a trust agreement to award scholarships and promote cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities hold true in our five funding priorities:
- Supporting innovative leadership training and programming led by Alpha Phi Fraternity
- Awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Alpha Phis
- Investing in the advancement of women’s heart health
- Helping members in need through the Forget Me Not Grant Fund
- Celebrating the forward-thinking women that shaped Alpha Phi by supporting the Fraternity’s preservation of our rich heritage
Our Vision
As a preeminent philanthropic organization, Alpha Phi Foundation is recognized for the strength of our endowment and for innovation in cultivating and sustaining donor participation. We strive to be the philanthropy of choice among our members, with every Alpha Phi supporting the Foundation.

Alpha Phi Foundation is committed to its members during every stage of life. We are proud to share our 2024 – 2027 Strategic Plan to provide a lens into the operations of the Foundation, how donor dollars are spent, and how we steward donors through the giving experience.
Events
Red Dress Gala
One of our most significant and eagerly anticipated fundraising events of the year is the Red Dress Gala, held annually on Parents Weekend. This event is part of a nationwide initiative by Alpha Phi chapters, all dedicated to raising awareness and funds for women’s heart health. The Red Dress Gala is a vibrant and elegant affair that brings together members, their families, and the community to support this critical cause.
The evening is filled with various fundraising activities, most notably our auction of themed baskets, each carefully curated and donated by members and local businesses. Additionally, we hold a lively raffle that offers attendees the chance to win an array of exciting prizes. Throughout the event, we provide an array of delicious food and drinks, ensuring that our guests enjoy a memorable experience while contributing to a worthy cause.
Our 2024 Red Dress Gala raised an astounding $50,000 for the foundation and beat our record auction amount. The Red Dress Gala not only raises vital funds but also strengthens our chapter’s commitment to increasing awareness of women’s heart health.
Crush Week
A week long event, where alpha phis table on campus selling lollipops and bear plushies to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation! This past year we raised $2,500 over three days of selling, hosting a talent show for our Bordeaux Boys running to be our ivy man, and a hot wing eating competition. Crush Week always lands over Valentines Day, and this year we even brought a photo booth on campus for students to take photos in with their friends and loved ones. This week is majority of our member’s favorite philanthropy event we hold.
